There are so many things going on right now that I thought I would update everyone in this note. I first want to say how excited I am for these things that are happening. We will try to update you at the beginning of September as to where we are with these projects.
Building Addition After talking with Jason Collert, the project has been on hold waiting for the Architect to finish a few items on the drawings. As of last week, the foundation permit has been approved by Wood County. We are in hopes to have all the approvals within the next 3 weeks. Since the delay and not being able to set a date of construction, we must find new sub-contractors (excavation, concrete, and framing). There currently seems to be a labor shortage so we need everyone to pray that we find some. We are hoping to break ground this Fall. Sound System All the sound equipment is in, and they are installing the system this week. When you come for Worship on Sunday you will notice a big difference. Thank you to all who contributed to this project. They are hoping to get to the Family Life Center this week and finish up hanging the speakers there as well. Director of Connections Bridget Powell stepped down from this position to be able to spend more time to care for their new foster adventure. We will miss her. After much prayer, we have hired Jennifer Lopez as our new Director of Connections. Jennie brings a lot of energy and passion to the table. If anyone would like to step forward and help in connecting people, then let Jennie know. Children’s Pastor/Director We are still in the process of finding our next Children’s Pastor/Director. We are following up with a few names and hope to find one soon. We are so blessed to have so many people on our Children’s Ministry Team. Erica Stacy has stepped in as the Director this Summer and she will be returning to the classroom in just a few weeks. We appreciate all the behind the scenes work she has done. Chinese Church Pastor Jin and Meiling continue to see many open doors of ministry in our community. They have been meeting every Sunday for worship at 10:45am in our Family Life Center, and meeting for Bible Study on Friday night. The word is getting out and new people have been checking it out. Pray for harvest. I am excited for what the Lord is doing. I want to leave you with a Psalm that expresses the strength the Lord provides through His body. It is a great place to be a part of. Better is one day in His house than thousands elsewhere. Psalm 84 How lovely is your dwelling place, O Lord of hosts! 2 My soul longs, yes, faints for the courts of the Lord; my heart and flesh sing for joy to the living God. 3 Even the sparrow finds a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, at your altars, O Lord of hosts, my King and my God. 4 Blessed are those who dwell in your house, ever singing your praise! Selah 5 Blessed are those whose strength is in you, in whose heart are the highways to Zion. 6 As they go through the Valley of Baca they make it a place of springs; the early rain also covers it with pools. 7 They go from strength to strength; each one appears before God in Zion. 8 O Lord God of hosts, hear my prayer; give ear, O God of Jacob! Selah 9 Behold our shield, O God; look on the face of your anointed! 10 For a day in your courts is better than a thousand elsewhere. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of wickedness. 11 For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favor and honor. No good thing does he withhold from those who walk uprightly. 12 O Lord of hosts, blessed is the one who trusts in you! May God richly bless you this day as we faithfully follow where He leads us. Joy in Jesus! Pastor Mike
